Unfortunately not all phones perform the same method to enter safe mode. Most jellybean devices use the first method below, but some devices with older versions of Android and some newer devices (like Galaxy S4 and HTC one) use the alternate method further down the page.
How to Boot to Safemode.
- Hold down the power off button on your device. (i.e the button you use in putting off your device)
- Long press the "power off'" option that appears.
- A dialog box will appear asking you to switch to safemode click ok.
- When your phone reboots you should see you should see a safemode watermark at the bottom of your screen .
Alternate Method (some older versions of Android and some jelly bean phones)
- Put off your phone.
- Once your phone is put off, turn it on by pressing the power button.
- As your phone is booting hold down the volume up and volume down button together and keep them held.
- Once your phone is booted, you should see a "Safe mode" Watermark at the bottom of your screen.
note: if the alternate method doesn't work you can try holding the menu button instead of volume up and volume down button.
I hope this helps.
